Seeing Indexing Progress

When you start indexing your assets or move your files into a Shade Drive, they go through a series of processes including preview generation, metadata generation, AI indexing, and more. Seeing the status related to indexing is an important component to understanding the current state of your drives and workspace.

Accessing a Quick View of Indexing

You can quickly view the status per drive by clicking the status icon in the bottom left of Shade. Now, you’re able to see what folders the Shade indexer is processing, the jobs that are associated with those files, and estimated completion times.

Viewing Full Indexing Status

If you’re interested in seeing more details - you can click on “more details” and expand to the indexing page per drive, this allows you to see even more data including what file is being indexed and any information about assets that have failed.
